The Southwest's largest annual floral festival is wrapping up its season, and the final days bring some of the most magical experiences of the year — including cherry blossoms by night.
If you haven't made it out to the Dallas Arboretum yet this spring, here's your sign — and your deadline. Dallas Blooms, one of the most beloved seasonal traditions in all of North Texas, runs only through April 12th, and the final stretch of the season is nothing short of spectacular.
Our family has been to the Arboretum, and I genuinely believe it's one of the most underappreciated gems in the entire DFW area. There's something almost surreal about walking through 66 acres of manicured gardens and cascading color in the middle of one of the largest cities in the country. The moment you step inside, the noise of the city melts away. It's peaceful, it's beautiful, and somehow, it never gets old.
Dallas Blooms transforms the garden each year with more than 500,000 blooming bulbs — tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and more — spread across sweeping, immersive displays that shift week by week as new blooms emerge. Southern Living named it one of the best places in the country to see spring blooms, and Newsweek ranked the Arboretum among the top gardens nationally for cherry blossoms. Visiting during peak season, it's easy to understand why.
One of the things we love most about the Arboretum is how well it works for all ages. The Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden — a separate 8-acre interactive nature garden included in general admission — is a world unto itself, with science exhibits, water features, climbing structures, and hands-on learning stations that keep kids thoroughly engaged.
For the adults, it's a chance to slow down, breathe fresh air, and remember that living in DFW means being close to genuinely world-class experiences. Whether you're a longtime Arboretum member or visiting for the first time, Dallas Blooms in its final days is worth every minute.

As someone who helps families find their next home in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, one of the joys of this job is sharing the experiences that make this region so special to live in. Dallas Blooms is one of them. If you're considering a move to DFW — or if you've lived here for years and just haven't made it out yet — put this on the calendar before April 12th. You'll be glad you did.
